Introduction

We believe every young person, no matter their postcode, background, or circumstances, should have the chance to turn their ideas into impact.

We have co-funded
90
schools
and we're on a mission to support more!

The Xccelerate Fund provides co-funding to help you bring Future Anything to your school. Through this fund, we aim to:

  • Remove financial barriers so more students can participate in Future Anything programs.
  • Prioritise equity by supporting schools working with underserved, at-risk, and underrepresented communities.
  • Amplify opportunity for students and teachers to innovate, create, and lead change in their schools and communities.
  • Invest in sustainable impact, helping schools build the capability and confidence to fund participation beyond the first year.

Who is eligible for funding from The Xccelerate Fund?

Thirty* Xccelerate spots are available to primary and secondary schools in 2026. To secure co-funding, schools must meet at least one of the criteria below:

  • Have an ICSEA value of less than 1000 (Australian schools only). ICSEA stands for Index of Community Socio-educational Advantage. Read about it here or check your school’s ICSEA value at https://www.myschool.edu.au/
  • Be a public or government school
  • Be located in an inner regional, outer regional or remote location
  • Support underrepresented, underserved, or at-risk young people
  • Experience financial hardship or have limited resources, preventing access to extracurricular or enrichment opportunities

Demand for The Xccelerate Fund is expected to be high, so preference will be given to schools that meet multiple criteria. Schools must not have participated in The Future Anything Challenge in the past three years.

How does funding from The Xccelerate Fund work?

Each year, we work with a number of partners to provide co-funding to schools to run a Future Anything program. Funding typically covers 25-50% of the program cost, leaving the remainder to be funded by the school

If you choose to continue to work with us in the following year, you’ll be supported in identifying and securing funding partners. We’ll work with you to make sure this isn’t a one-off.

How do I apply for funding from The Xccelerate Fund?

Expressions of interest are open year-round.

Opportunities land on our desk all the time, and we head to the EOI list first to find a match. We will reach out with a formal invitation to apply if there is an opportunity available. When applying, we’ll ask schools to share:

  1. Why your school needs support from The Xccelerate Fund.
  2. The impact you hope to achieve for your students, school, and community.
  3. Your readiness to deliver — including potential barriers and existing strengths

All applications must include a letter of support from your Principal.

FAQs

We think every question is important. Here are the most frequently asked.

If you can't find the answer you're looking for, please reach out to our friendly team.

What can Xccelerate Funding support?

Schools can apply for funding to run any of our Student Innovation Workshops (Rapid, Flare, Spark, Fuel or Ignite), any of our Teacher Professional Development programs or our award-winning Future Anything Challenge program. Funding will cover between 25-50% of the program cost of the program.

Where does the funding for The Xccelerate Fund come from?

Firstly, Future Anything funds one Xccelerate spot for every ten new schools that register for The Future Anything Challenge.

Secondly, Future Anything partners with visionary and values-led organisations (including corporates, philanthropy, and local and state government) that are passionate about unlocking passion, potential and agency in schools that need it most.

Can multiple applications come from the same school?

Yes, schools may submit more than one application for different cohorts within their school community. However, each application will be assessed on its own merit, and funding will not be granted to more than one submission within each school.

I’m located outside Australia. Can I apply?

Yes! International contexts are eligible for The Xccelerate Fund if they meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Are a public school
  • Are located in a inner regional, outer regional or remote location
  • Work primarily with underrepresented, underserved, or at-risk young people
  • Experience financial hardship or have limited resources, preventing access to extracurricular or enrichment opportunities

What happens if a school can’t deliver the program after receiving funding?

We understand that unexpected challenges can arise. If your school is unable to deliver the Future Anything program after being awarded funding, please contact our team immediately.

In the past, we’ve worked with schools to:

  • Reschedule delivery to a later term to enable space and time for delivery.
  • Realignment of delivery to different cohort of students (this could be within a different subject or year level).
  • Provision of additional support to help schools overcome barriers or blockers to delivery of the program.

Our goal is always to work with you to find the best pathway forward. Where that isn’t possible, we will re-allocate the funding to another school.

Can funding be combined with other grants?

Yes. Schools are welcome to combine the Xccelerate Fund with other grants, sponsorships, or funding streams to cover their contribution or extend program delivery.
